IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR

DEBIT CARDS!

You may have heard about the recent changes coming in the way consumers use their debit cards.  Recent changes to Federal regulations require consumers who use debit cards to opt in or out of overdraft coverage for ATM withdrawals and purchases made at merchants.  

Currently we are paying items on your debit card usage that would otherwise be returned or declined on occasions when your account balance may not have enough funds to cover those items. 

You now have a choice to make about your personal share draft account. You will need to tell us if you want overdraft coverage for ATM and Debit Card transactions.

What do I do to continue the service?
 Simply contact the credit union at (808)245-2463

 
What if I do nothing?
If you no longer wish to continue the overdraft service you will not have to do anything.  All CU debit cardholders will automatically revert to NO overdraft coverage August 15th, 2010.  If there are insufficient funds in your account, your transactions will be declined.

What if I Change my mind?
You also always have the right to change your choice by contacting us at the Credit union.

Standard overdraft fees apply.
The KGEFCU standard charge is $20 per item. There is no limit to the total fees that can be charged.  Overdrafts are paid at the Credit Unions discretion.  This means the CU may not always authorize to pay transactions that may overdraft your account.  If we do not pay the transaction, your card will be declined.
